1. Purpose of This Policy
This editorial policy sets out the standards that govern how tips, predictions, analysis, and all other editorial content are produced and published on Kings Odds. It exists to ensure that our editorial output is independent from commercial pressures, methodologically sound, and fully transparent about its limitations and uncertainties.
Kings Odds operates as a free football predictions and tips service. Our revenue comes from disclosed affiliate relationships with licensed bookmakers. This policy defines the firewall between that commercial activity and our editorial decisions.
2. Editorial Independence
2.1 Commercial separation
Kings Odds maintains strict separation between its commercial operations and its editorial output. The following commercial activities have no influence on which tips are published, which markets are covered, or which selections are recommended:
- Affiliate commission rates from bookmakers
- Advertising revenue from any source
- Any form of payment from bookmakers, leagues, clubs, or players in exchange for coverage or endorsement
2.2 Affiliate disclosure
Kings Odds earns affiliate commission when users follow links to licensed bookmakers and create funded accounts. All such relationships are disclosed in our Terms of Use. We do not accept payment from any bookmaker in exchange for featuring their odds, promoting their products, or directing traffic to them above other operators.
2.3 Odds sourcing
Odds used in tip analysis are sampled across multiple licensed bookmakers to identify the best available price. Tips are not written around the odds of any single operator, and we encourage users to use odds comparison to find the best price available for any given selection.
3. Tip Production Standards
3.1 Model-based selection
All tips are generated using statistical models described in full on our About page and How It Works page. No tip is published purely on the basis of intuition, team loyalty, or narrative-driven reasoning without statistical support.
3.2 Value edge requirement
We only publish tips where our model probability exceeds the bookmaker's implied probability by a meaningful margin. This is called the value edge. Tips where our model gives a negative value edge at the published market price are flagged explicitly with a breakeven price — we do not remove them from publication, but we recommend against staking at current prices and advise readers to shop for better odds.
3.3 Transparency on uncertainty
All tips include:
- A model probability for the selection
- The market's implied probability from the offered odds
- The calculated value edge (positive or negative)
- A confidence rating
- A recommended stake level calibrated to the confidence and variance of the market
We do not present any tip as a certain outcome. All betting involves risk and past model performance does not guarantee future results.
3.4 Stake calibration
Recommended stakes are scaled by market variance:
- High-probability, low-variance markets (Over 1.5, BTTS, Under 4.5): up to 3 units
- Standard markets (Over 2.5, 1X2, Asian Handicap): 1–2 units
- Specialist/higher-variance markets (Correct Score, HT/FT, Exact Goals, FGS): 0.5–1 unit maximum
- Accumulator tips: 1–2 units on the combined acca
1 unit corresponds to the user's own base stake level. We recommend a base stake of no more than 1–2% of total bankroll per unit.
4. Results Recording Standards
4.1 Odds at publication
All results are recorded at the odds available at the time of tip publication. We do not use retrospectively enhanced or boosted prices. We do not use prices obtained after publication.
4.2 No retrospective amendments
Results are recorded as published. We do not edit, delete, or amend tips after publication. Tips that lose are shown in our results log alongside wins. No selective presentation of results is permitted.
4.3 Void and push handling
Void outcomes (including Asian Handicap push, abandoned matches, player non-participation in FGS markets) are recorded with a P&L of 0.00 units and excluded from win rate percentage calculations. They are visible in the full results log and in monthly P&L totals.
4.4 Win rate calculation
Win rate is calculated as: (number of winning tips) ÷ (total tips excluding voids). Void outcomes do not count as wins or losses in win rate calculations. ROI is calculated as: (total P&L in units) ÷ (total units staked).
5. Corrections Policy
5.1 Factual errors
If a factual error is identified in a published tip — including an incorrect player name, incorrect kickoff time, incorrect statistical figure, or typographic error in odds or stake — we will correct it as promptly as possible, add a visible correction notice at the top of the affected card, and record the original and corrected version.
5.2 Model errors
If a systematic error is identified in our statistical models, we will publish a transparency note on the affected tips pages and on our About page describing the nature of the error, the tips affected, and the corrective action taken.
5.3 Contacting us
To report a factual error or correction request, contact us at our contact page. We aim to acknowledge all correction requests within 24 hours.
6. Responsible Gambling Integration
6.1 Page-level compliance
Every tips page on Kings Odds includes:
- A responsible gambling strip at the bottom of every page with a link to BeGambleAware.org
- An age restriction statement (18+ only)
- The note that tips are for informational purposes only
6.2 Staking guidance
All tips include a recommended stake level. We never recommend stakes that would be irresponsible for a bettor following standard bankroll management principles. Our maximum recommended stake on any single tip is 3 units, with 1 unit representing no more than 1–2% of total bankroll.
6.3 High-risk market disclosure
Markets with inherently high variance (Correct Score, HT/FT Correct Score, First Goal Scorer, Exact Goals) include explicit editorial notes about their win rate expectations, the normal frequency of losing runs, and the importance of small staking. We do not encourage chasing losses in these markets.
6.4 Third-party resources
Our Responsible Gambling page links to and describes the resources of: BeGambleAware, GamCare, Gamblers Anonymous, and the National Gambling Helpline. It includes the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI) quiz and instructions for self-exclusion via Gamstop.
7. Legal Status and Limitations
Kings Odds does not hold a gambling operating licence in any jurisdiction. Our content constitutes analytical commentary and statistical opinion, not financial or gambling advice within the meaning of applicable UK or international regulations. Users are solely responsible for their betting decisions and should not rely solely on our tips when placing bets.
Users must comply with the gambling laws of their jurisdiction. Kings Odds is intended for use only by individuals in jurisdictions where accessing online football predictions content is lawful and where the user is of legal gambling age (18 or over, or the applicable local minimum where higher).
Past performance of our tips does not guarantee future results. Betting involves financial risk and users can lose more than they stake.
