What Is the BTTS Market?
Both Teams to Score (BTTS) is one of the most popular football betting markets worldwide. In BTTS Yes, both the home team and away team must score at least one goal each for the bet to win. In BTTS No, at least one team must keep a clean sheet. The full-time result — whether either team wins or the game draws — has absolutely no bearing on the outcome. A 5-1 home win lands BTTS Yes. A 1-0 home win lands BTTS No. A 1-1 draw lands BTTS Yes. Only goals and clean sheets matter.
BTTS is our highest-performing market, tracking at 83% over the last 90 days. The reason is statistical consistency: scoring and clean-sheet records are among the most stable and predictable metrics in football data, changing slowly over the course of a season and responding predictably to team quality, tactical setup, and personnel.
How We Predict BTTS
Our BTTS model processes four core inputs for every fixture. First, each team's recent scoring rate — goals scored per game across the last 10 fixtures, weighted toward more recent games. Second, each team's recent clean sheet rate — the percentage of games in which they conceded zero goals across home and away splits. Third, the head-to-head BTTS frequency between the two specific teams. Fourth, any tactical or personnel factors that affect goal likelihood — a striker returning from injury, a defensive midfielder suspended, or a newly appointed manager deploying a more defensive shape.
We only publish BTTS tips where a genuine positive value edge exists. Today's card includes seven BTTS Yes tips and two BTTS No tips. The BTTS No selections — Bayern vs Augsburg and PSG vs Brest — are backed by exceptional defensive numbers: Augsburg score in just 40% of their away games against Bayern-quality sides and Brest have kept a clean sheet in only 2 of their last 10 away fixtures overall.
BTTS Yes vs BTTS No — Reading the Odds
When both teams have high scoring rates and low clean sheet rates, BTTS Yes will be short (typically 1.50–1.75) and BTTS No will be long (2.00+). When one team has an exceptional defensive record or the other has a very low scoring rate, BTTS No will be shorter (1.40–1.65) and BTTS Yes will be long. Our value filter identifies cases where the market misprices either direction relative to the true probability — today's best edge is on Chelsea vs Liverpool BTTS Yes at +19.3%, where the market implies only 61.7% despite an 81% true probability.
BTTS Tips in Accumulators
BTTS tips are excellent accumulator ingredients because the market is independent of the match result. You can combine BTTS Yes legs with 1X2 legs from the same fixture without needing both bets to align on the same team winning. For example: Chelsea vs Liverpool BTTS Yes + Arsenal Win produces a parlay that wins even if Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-1. BTTS also has lower variance than goals total markets because the threshold (at least one goal each) is lower than Over 2.5 (three goals needed). A 1-1 draw or a 2-1 win both land BTTS Yes; neither lands Over 2.5.
